CMOS De-Animator v2 is a service utility for your system's CMOS RAM. Unlike its predecessor, the CMOS De-Animator 1.0, this new version includes a graphical interface and CMOS-backup options along with the "Clear CMOS" procedure, which was the original version's only purpose. The application supports all 32-bit and 64-bit Windows operating systems except Windows 95 and Windows NT 3.51; for these old systems you will have to use De-Animator 1.0.

Like with CMOS De-Animator 1.0, one-time activated administrator (power user) privileges are required, if the application is ran for the first time in your system. CMOS De-Animator v2 now includes a self-test on its startup to check, whether the CMOS can be successfully accessed to. After successful execution with the status "Ready to go" visible, the application can be normally used even under non-privileged accounts on your machine (i.e. under an user account). This doesn't apply to Windows 98/ME, where the utility works instantly.

What's new in version 2.1:
- Minor bugfixes.
- Added a warning about usage on laptops and computers with non-standard CMOS.

Improvements in version 2.0 over 1.0:
- A simple GUI with three possible actions: clear, save or restore the CMOS RAM
- Test CMOS reading at the startup, as mentioned above.
- No need to download a separate version for 64-bit systems.
- Compared with De-Animator 1.0 (32-bit), no false-alarm messages from picky antivirus programs. (More information.)

Reset Password BIOS PC/Laptop Langsung dari Windows

Memberikan password pada BIOS (Basic Input Output System) adalah cara yang paling aman agar PC/Laptop terhindar dari pengubahan konfigurasi perangkat keras oleh orang tidak mengerti sama sekali tentang BIOS hingga pengguna level menengah ke atas, yang bisa berakibat tidak berfungsinya beberapa perangkat keras PC/Laptop sebagaimana mestinya.

Tetapi apa jadinya jika password tersebut anda lupa? Sementara anda ingin melakukan perubahan pada konfigurasi perangkat keras, seperti mengubah urutan boot-device, menaikkan share memory VGA, dan sebagainya.

Bagi yang terbiasa mengutak-atik perangkat keras komputer mungkin hal ini tidaklah terlalu sulit, cukup cari jumper reset CMOS untuk me-reset (menonaktikan) passwordnya. Atau jika jumper reset CMOS tidak disediakan oleh pihak vendor perangkat keras, seperti pada beberapa kasus laptop yang tidak memiliki jumper reset CMOS.

Berikut ini ada sebuah software yang dikembangkan oleh ST-WARE Softworks yang berjalan pada sistem operasi windows 32bit & 64bit, namanya CMOS De-Animator. Software ini dapat mengembalikan semua pengaturan BIOS ke pengaturan standar, termasuk menghapus password BIOS yang ada.

Pada versi 32bit, beberapa anti virus memberikan false-positive bahwa program ini adalah program berjenis malware, abaikan saja peringatan-peringatan tersebut. Dan sebaiknya program ini didownload langsung dari situs resminya, karena dikhawatirkan ada virus yang disusupkan oleh orang yang tidak bertanggung jawab jika didownload dari situs lain. Silahkan restart PC/Laptop anda untuk melihat perubahannya.
